Beauty Influencer Known for Testing and Tasting Cosmetic Dies

A beauty influencer by the name of Guava Shuishui died suddenly last month from what was described as "sudden ailments." A friend of the content creator has spoken out amid speculation surrounding the cause of her death.

Shuishui passed away on May 24, 2025, according to a statement and a final post on her Instagram account.

The statement, written in Chinese, explained that she had been "battling" unspecified health issues referred to as "sudden ailments." Her exact cause of death was not disclosed.

"Thank you to everyone who has liked, commented, and laughed with her, and thank you for your love and support. She really keeps it in her heart and cherishes it very much," the translated message read.

"To all those who have cared, with a sincere thank you, please remember Shuishui with a warm heart," it concluded. Shuishui had built a significant following on social media as a beauty, food, and travel influencer.

Her content focused primarily on makeup, where she both tested and tasted cosmetic products. Since the news of her passing emerged, rumors regarding her cause of death have been circulating. In response, a longtime friend of Shuishui stepped in to "clarify some things."

The friend stated that during the early stages of Shuishui's hospitalization, doctors "ruled out any possibilities related to the so-called 'food cosmetics,'" likely referring to Shuishui's habit of licking or biting into the products she showcased.

She also stressed that Shuishui always warned her audience about the dangers of consuming cosmetics. Additionally, she noted that the ongoing speculation has caused "tremendous emotional stress and harm to her family and our close friends," and called for the "malicious speculation" to cease.
