Melania Trump Shuts Down Rumor of Son Barron's Harvard Rejection
Melania Trump is pushing back against online speculation about her son Barron's college prospects, firmly denying claims that he was rejected from Harvard University.
Melania Trump has officially addressed and dismissed rumors that her son, Barron Trump, was rejected from Harvard University. The speculation surfaced online after former President Donald Trump announced plans to sever federal contracts with Harvard—contracts reportedly worth around $100 million.

In a statement issued by Melania's communications director, Nicholas Clemens, the former First Lady made it clear that Barron never applied to Harvard in the first place.

"Barron did not apply to Harvard, and any assertion that he, or that anyone on his behalf, applied, is completely false," Clemens said.

The denial directly refutes the online chatter suggesting that the Trump administration's action against Harvard was retaliation for the university's supposed rejection of Barron.

President Trump previously confirmed Barron's college plans in September 2024. At the time, he proudly announced that his son would be attending the Stern School of Business at New York University, and noted that Barron "was accepted to a lot of colleges."
