Michelle Obama Reveals the One Marriage 'Deal' She Made with Barack

Michelle Obama is not afraid to call the shots at home, and on Amy Poehler's podcast, she revealed the one unbreakable rule she's laid down for Barack.

Michelle Obama recently opened up about a lighthearted rule she imposed on former President Barack Obama, offering a glimpse into their relationship during a guest appearance on Amy Poehler's "Good Hang" podcast.

The episode, released on May 13, 2025, featured a candid conversation between the former First Lady and the comedian. During the discussion, Michelle shared the one thing she insists both her husband and her brother, Craig Robinson, cannot do to her.

"Both Barack and Craig will say that I don't let them tease me," she said. "See, we have a deal, Barack and I, in our marriage, and it started very early. It's like 'I can tease you, but you cannot tease me.'"

Michelle admitted that she and her daughters, Malia and Sasha, enjoy playfully teasing the former president and joked that he "doesn't stand a chance." For her, teasing Barack has become a kind of love language.

Over the past few months, rumors have hinted at marital issues between Michelle and Barack. These rumors were largely fueled by her absence at high-profile events, including President Jimmy Carter's funeral and President Donald Trump's inauguration, both of which Barack attended alone.

Michelle dismissed the rumors outright on another podcast guesting on "The Diary of a CEO with Steven Barlett," using humor to put them to rest. "If I were having problems with my husband, everybody would know about it," she laughed.
