Ellen DeGeneres may have left show business behind for now, but her next chapter is anything but ordinary. Now living in the English countryside, she’s turning heads with a striking new look.

Having long sported platinum blonde hair, Ellen DeGeneres has recently opted for a darker shade as she continues to settle into her new home in the United Kingdom. She and her wife, Portia de Rossi, had chosen to leave behind the hustle and bustle of Hollywood for a more tranquil life in the English countryside back in November 2024.

DeGeneres debuted her new brunette hair in a series of videos she shared where she was seen mowing the lawn, tending to her chickens, and caring for her garden. Embracing the simplicity of farm life, DeGeneres completed the look with her signature pair of sturdy boots.

"Some people have a dream of becoming a farmer. Clearly our dream was to become a landscape maintenance crew with a little farming on the side," she wrote in her caption.

The couple relocated after falling in love with a home in the Cotswolds region, and they haven't looked back since. They've been enjoying the peace and quiet that the U.K. has to offer after a tumultuous last few years in Hollywood.
DeGeneres' namesake show ended in May 2022 when her contract expired. It was not renewed following claims from her staff that the set was toxic.
