School District Pays Tribute to Twins Who Died in Fishing Accident
The twins died after a reported drowning incident in a Mississippi lake on April 17, 2025. They were seniors at Philadelphia High School, and were remembered dearly.
The Philadelphia Public School District (PPSD) has come out with heartfelt tributes, honoring the lives of Jamarion and Camarion Grady.
The siblings were reportedly fishing at Lake Pushmataha in the Pearl River Community, where they are said to have drowned. Details are limited at this point, but Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark noted that Jamarion and Camarion had been under the water for some time.
Jamarion, a "vibrant and joyful spirit" also known as "Frog" by his friends and classmates, was pronounced dead on April 17. The PPSD issued a statement on April 18, confirming his passing.
"We are holding Jamarion's twin brother, Camarion, and the entire Grady family close in our hearts and prayers," they said. At the time, Camarion was still hospitalized at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Tragically, Camarion, known by his loved ones as "Fatt," died on Sunday, April 20. In light of his passing, the district issued another statement on Monday, April 21.
Described as having a "larger-than-life" personality, the football standout was said to be "outgoing, fearless, and full of energy." In a show of strength and unity, and in remembrance of the him and his brother, the PPSD invited its community to wear red and black on Wednesday, April 23.
