Expert Claims Donald Trump's Health Could Be 'At Risk' Amid Talks About His Weight Loss
The President has shed a significant amount of weight, which has sparked concerns about his health. While he claims to be in good condition, an expert shared his opinion.
Photos taken earlier this month have showcased Donald Trump in a slimmer frame than before. He has reportedly lost 31lbs since 2022 as he swapped his love for fast food for a healthier diet.
Although some netizens have praised the businessman for his trimmed-down figure, a medical doctor has offered a different opinion. The professional claimed that the 78-year-old could encounter a severe health condition.
In an interview, clinical lead Dr. Daniel Atkinson revealed that a man of Trump's age has an increased risk of diabetes. He explained:
"For a hypothetical person, who has taken on the office of President of the United States for a second term, at the age of 80, there might be several factors that could affect their weight."
"A person who's almost 80 with a busy schedule might be more at risk of certain conditions that can cause weight loss," Dr. Atkinson continued. According to him, diabetes can cause weight changes if unmanaged.
He acknowledged that it can be challenging to manage blood sugar as one ages and as such, insulin resistance can develop with age. However, this doesn't necessarily mean the controversial politician has the disease as the White House hasn't commented on his weight loss in recent months.
Meanwhile, former White House physician, Jeffrey Kuhlman, said in October 2024, that the President "appears in good health" but noted that he may have cognitive issues. Kuhlman added:
"He exhibits cognitive decline in reasoning, memory, and processing speed, consistent with his advanced age."
While people continue to make assumptions about his health, Trump recently took to Truth Social and expressed that he has never felt better.
