The former English football player was put forward for the honor more than ten years ago. Alongside his wife, he was also joined by his parents, Ted Beckham and Sandra West.
David Beckham has officially been knighted. The 50-year-old was bestowed with the honor on Tuesday, November 4, by King Charles III. The ceremony, hosted by His Majesty, was held at Windsor Castle.

David was among notable individuals recognized for their outstanding contributions to the community. In light of his knighthood, he will now be known as Sir David Beckham, while his wife, Victoria Beckham, will be referred to as Lady Beckham.

The former Manchester United captain looked impeccably polished and regal for the occasion. He was dressed in a tailored charcoal grey morning suit featuring a long tailcoat and matching trousers with a subtle sheen.

He paired the ensemble with a crisp white shirt, a sleek grey tie, and a gold pocket watch chain. His look was complete with a well-groomed beard and neatly styled hair. Beside him, Victoria exuded a timeless, understated elegance in a fitted, sleeveless black midi dress that cinched subtly at the waist.

She accessorized with glossy black pointed heels, a delicate bracelet, and a black netted fascinator that gave her ensemble a chic, royal-inspired flair. Her sleek updo and natural makeup completed the sophisticated look.

David was confirmed to have made it onto the King's Birthday Honours list back in June. According to The Sun, his name had been put forward for the title in 2011 after he helped secure the London 2012 Olympics.

However, the Honours Committee reportedly blocked him from receiving the title after he was embroiled in a tax avoidance scheme involving the investment firm Ingenious Media, along with several other celebrities.

His finances were eventually cleared in 2021, making him eligible for a knighthood nomination once again. "David, like many of the celebs embroiled with Ingenious, had no knowledge of what was going on at the time," a source told The Sun at the time.

When it was confirmed he would receive the honor this year, his wife took to Instagram to celebrate. "You've always been my knight in shining armour, but now it's official. Sir @davidbeckham!!! What an honour, I couldn't be prouder of you," Victoria wrote.
In addition to a stellar career as a football player — having played over 100 games for England — David became well-known for his charity work, much of which has focused on improving the lives of underprivileged children.
In 2003, he was appointed an officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). More than 20 years later, in 2024, he was named ambassador for the King's Foundation in a campaign to inspire young people to pursue careers in horticulture.
"I'm excited to be working with The King's Foundation and to have the opportunity to help raise awareness of the charity's work," David said in a statement at the time.

He continued, "I've always been keen to help young people to expand their horizons and I'm particularly looking forward to supporting the Foundation's education programs and its efforts to ensure young people have greater access to nature."
