He was a father of four children from two previous marriages when he died. He welcomed daughter Savannah, 23, and son Seth, 18, with his first wife, Melissa Ashworth. He also shared daughter River, 11, and son Remy, 9, with his second wife, Kelly Clarkson.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight on the Emmys red carpet on Sunday, September 14, Reba said she and the family are thinking of Brandon. "We miss him. We miss him every minute," she said.
"The kids are doing well, they're all bonding together and hanging out with each other, and taking it one day at a time. We know God's got this," she added.
Prior to his passing, Reba and her new fiancé, Rex Linn, had supported the Blackstock family in the months leading up to Brandon's death. The beloved country star later honored her stepson in a heartfelt tribute.
