President Donald Trump was asked about Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's engagement during a recent Oval Office press conference, and he had nothing but kind words to share.

This came as a surprise to many, as he's been vocal about Taylor Swift in the past months, from comparing him to Sidney Sweenie and even expressing his hate towards her.
"I think he's a great player, I think he's a great guy, and I think that she's a terrific person. So I wish them a lot of luck," Trump told reporters.
Swift and Kelce announced their engagement on August 26, 2025, with a joint Instagram post featuring several photos from the special moment.

Kelce proposed in a garden filled with pink and white flowers, where he dropped to one knee and presented Swift with a massive old mine cut diamond ring that he co-designed.
"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨," the couple captioned their post.
Trump's positive remarks marked a notable shift, as he had previously been openly critical of Swift, even posting "I hate Taylor Swift!" on Truth Social in September 2024 after she endorsed Kamala Harris for president.
