Emma Thompson and Daughter Gaia Step Out for a Rare Appearance at the Locarno Film Festival

Emma Thompson and her daughter Gaia lit up the Locarno Film Festival red carpet, dazzling in coordinated white ensembles at the Swiss premiere of "The Dead of Winter."

Emma Thompson, 66, made a rare red carpet appearance with her daughter Gaia at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. The Oscar-winning actress was photographed alongside the 25-year-old as they attended the premiere of "The Dead of Winter," in which Thompson stars.

In the new action-thriller Thompson's character embarks on a journey to scatter her late husband's ashes on a frozen lake in northern Minnesota. During that journey, she stumbles upon a troubling scene where a teenage girl is held captive in a remote location with no cell reception or nearby help.

The film is directed by Brian Kirk, with a screenplay by Nicholas Jacobson-Larson and Dalton Leeb. It also features performances by Judy Greer, Marc. Menchaca, and Laurel Marsden.

For the event, the veteran Hollywood A-lister wore a white two-piece ensemble adorned with a cherry print for the event. Gaia, standing slightly taller than her mother, opted for a coordinated look with a sheer, sparkly white top and matching shorts. Bearing a strong resemblance to Thompson, she smiled alongside her mom as they posed for photographers.

Thompson shares Gaia with husband Greg Wise. The couple are also parents to son Tindyebwa "Tindy" Agaba, whom they adopted from Rwanda.
