The 44-year-old singer broke the news in a lengthy Instagram post on Thursday, shortly after wrapping his Forget Tomorrow World Tour. In the emotional post, the "Mirrors" singer described the past few months as both rewarding and physically grueling.
Timberlake acknowledged that he has been dealing with private health challenges, including a recent diagnosis. "As many of you know, I'm a pretty private person," he wrote. "But as I'm reflecting on the tour and festival tour – I want to tell you a little bit about what's going on with me."

Timberlake said he chose to speak out about his condition to provide context for fans rather than seek sympathy. He explained that he had been dealing with ongoing health issues and revealed he was “diagnosed with Lyme disease." He described the condition as "relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically."

Lyme disease, a bacterial infection, is transmitted through the bites of infected ticks. Although symptoms such as muscle pain, fatigue, brain fog, and joint swelling usually disappear within weeks, some patients experience long-term complications.
In recent weeks, Timberlake had faced criticism online, with fans noting what they called “tired” performances and alleged lip syncing. Some had also pointed out that he frequently let the audience sing large parts of his set.
One person commented, "Maybe that's why he had the audience sing his songs at the concert that they paid for." Another questioned the timing, "Must be the new excuse for all the partying he’s been doing." A third added, "I'm just over here trying to picture Justin Timberlake in a scenario where he might actually come in contact with a tick."
Despite the speculation, Timberlake expressed gratitude to his fans, team, and family for their continued support.
