Venus Williams Confirms Engagement to Actor Andrea Preti

The pair, who were first romantically linked in 2024, have kept their relationship relatively private. They sparked engagement rumors when the tennis star was seen wearing a ring earlier this year.

Venus Williams and Andrea Preti are ready to take the next step in their relationship. The decorated athlete confirmed she was engaged to the film star during a post-match interview on Tuesday, July 22.

Interviewer Rennae Stubbs asked, "You are now an engaged woman. So, how has Andrea helped you in this comeback? You're happy, a smile on your face. I mean, how much has he made a difference in your life?"

"My fiancé is here and he really encouraged me to keep playing," Williams said of Preti. "There were so many times where I just wanted to coast and kind of chill." She continued, opening up about the immense effort that goes into her sport.

"Do you know how hard it is to play tennis? You guys don't know how much work goes into this, like it's 9 to 5 except you're running the whole time. Lifting weights and just like dying and then you repeat it the next day," Williams said.

Thankfully, Preti was there to cheer her on. "He encouraged me to get through this and it's wonderful to be here. He's never seen me play," she shared. Preti and Williams were first linked in July 2024, when they were seen boating together in Nerano, Italy.

They sparked engagement rumors when Williams was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left hand following a training session in Rome, which Preti also attended in support.
