Justin Bieber’s Surprise New Album Comes with ‘Genre Shift’
News of the surprise album emerged earlier this week, with insiders revealing who the "Confident" singer collaborated with and what to expect from the new project.
Justin Bieber released his seventh studio album, "Swag," on Friday, July 11, 2025. The 21-track project, published via Def Jam, is his first since 2021's "Justice" and it features songs with several artists, including Gunna, Sexyy Red, Druski, and Marvin Winans.
Prior to its release, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Justin had traveled to Iceland to put the finishing touches on the project. By Thursday, July 10, a billboard displaying the album cover had been erected in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Shortly after, an insider gave fans a glimpse of what to expect when listening to Justin's new sound. "It's darker, more vulnerable and less polished," the insider said. "It's in no way depressing though."
They added that "fans are in for a genre shift" and that the music is "much deeper." The insider also shared that Justin becoming a dad "shaped the heart" of his new album, as his 10-month-old son "is the most precious to him."
The 31-year-old welcomed his baby boy, Jack Blues, with wife Hailey Bieber last August and has indeed been reveling in fatherhood. He has frequently shared posts of the little one joining him on studio sessions, and even included both Jack and Hailey in the promotion of "Swag."
