Jonathan Bailey Appears to Reveal His Relationship Status

The actor seemingly disclosed his relationship status during a recent appearance on "Chicken Shop Date," which comes shortly after he famously shared a kiss with one of his female co-stars on the red carpet.

Jonathan Bailey sat down with host Amelia Dimoldenberg on a July 4 episode of "Chicken Shop Date." At the tail end of their chat, Dimoldenberg joked that she knew Bailey was "not available."

"But it's fine," she said. However, Bailey countered, "I'm available. It's just, I think there's a genetic predisposition."

And while he won many hearts onscreen as Lord Anthony Bridgerton in the Netflix period drama "Bridgerton," he admitted the role hasn't had any impact on his love life. "It's a fantasy, isn't it?" he said of the series. "Romance is grounded and real."

Bailey’s supposed confession follows his passionate red-carpet kiss with Scarlett Johansson at the Jurassic World: Rebirth world premiere on June 17 this year in London.

The moment took the internet by storm before the pair recreated it again at the film's New York City premiere less than a week later. Only this time, Johansson's husband, Colin Jost, was also present.

It should be noted, though, that Bailey has been openly gay since 2018. And while he keeps his romantic life largely out of the spotlight, he has expressed a keenness to have children—though not with his current, demanding lifestyle.

"I want to make sure I'm going to be present," he told British Vogue in December. "I'm reading books on adoption. I might co-parent with a woman, but I'm thinking it will be with a man."
