This Original ‘Devil Wears Prada’ Cast Member Won’t Be Back for the Sequel
The second installment of the cult classic is currently in production and it's been confirmed that the actor, who many fans believed to be the real antagonist in the film, won't be making an appearance.
Adrien Grenier, who played Nate Cooper, in "The Devil Wears Prada" won't be reprising his role for the upcoming sequel, scheduled for release next year.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the news on Tuesday that Grenier's character will not appear in "The Devil Wears Prada 2." Grenier starred alongside Anne Hathaway, who played Andy Sachs, in the original 2006 movie.
Andy was in a relationship with Nate throughout the movie, which follows her as a recent college graduate who lands a job as Miranda Priestly's assistant, the editor-in-chief at the prestigious magazine "Runway."

Nate was often critical of Andy working in fashion and her demanding schedule strained their relationship. At the end of the movie, Andy leaves fashion journalism for a job at a newspaper and she and Nate reconcile. Despite this, however, fans won't see Nate's return.
In the original film, Miranda is portrayed as the main antagonist, but fan perception has shifted over time, with many now labeling Nate as "the real villain." The actor opened up about the criticism, admitting he was taken aback at first.
"It hadn't occurred to me until I started to really think about it, and perhaps it was because I was as immature as Nate was at the time," Grenier said. "In many ways he's very selfish and self-involved, it was all about him, he wasn't extending himself to support Andy in her career."
"I might've been as immature as him at the time, so I personally couldn't see his shortcomings. But after time to reflect and much deliberation, I've come to realize the truth in that perspective," he reflected.
