Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s Wedding Invitation Reveals Unique Request to Guests
Billionaire Jeff Bezos and his wife-to-be Lauren Sánchez are opting for philanthropy over presents as they prepare to tie the knot in Venice, Italy, in front of their guests.
As they get ready for their highly anticipated wedding, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez have asked guests to skip the traditional gift-giving. Instead, they requested their guests to do something else.
According to a copy of their wedding invitation obtained by E! News, the couple requested "no gifts" and instead shared that donations would be made in guests' honor to local causes supporting Venice's cultural and environmental preservation.
"Donations on your behalf are being made to the UNESCO Venice Office to safeguard this city's irreplaceable cultural heritage," the invite read. Contributions will also go to CORILA, which works to restore lagoon habitats, and Venice International University, which supports sustainable research and education.
The pair wrote that their goal is to help ensure Venice "will continue to inspire wonder for generations to come."
Bezos, 61, and Sánchez, 55, got engaged in 2023 after going public with their relationship in 2019. Leading up to their Italian ceremony, they celebrated aboard Bezos' $500 million yacht off the coast of Croatia, hosting a foam party on June 22 to mark Sánchez's son Evan's 19th birthday.
