Malia Obama Spent Memorial Day Weekend with Friends in the Hamptons
The former First Daughter blended in with the locals, visiting a popular dive bar in The Hamptons with friends. Her appearance comes shortly after an indie filmmaker claimed she plagiarized her work.
Malia Obama was seen at Murf's Backstreet Tavern in Sag Harbor—a go-to spot for locals and hospitality workers in the area—with a group of girlfriends over the weekend. They were also spotted walking around Bridgehampton together.

In photos obtained by Page Six, the 26-year-old appeared to be in good spirits as she visited other locations in the affluent New York area.
And according to the publication, the daughter of former First Lady and US President Michelle and Barack Obama blended in with patrons, barely getting noticed as she walked by.

In one image, she can be seen beaming and clapping her hands as she sat at a park, surrounded by bags and shoes.
In another, the young film director is pictured walking with pals, dressed more warmly. She wore loose dark pants paired with a nude jacket and a black asymmetrical cropped top. Her long, wavy braids were left down for a relaxed vibe.
The sighting comes almost two weeks after indie filmmaker Natalie Jasmine Harris published an essay via Business Insider claiming that a recent Nike ad directed by Malia had striking similarities to a scene from her short film, "Grace."
"At first, I was confused, wondering whether it was real," Natalie said. She shared that she and Malia first crossed paths at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, where "Grace" and Malia's "The Heart" were in competition.
"My cinematographer, Tehillah De Castro, noted a lot of similarities from a technical perspective, from the camera angles to the shots to the framing composition and the color palette," she continued.
Natalie added that she also shared the commercial with friends who had "the same reaction" she did. She has yet to hear from Malia or Nike since speaking out about the incident; however, she hopes her work will be acknowledged.
