He also shared details about their final exchanges. “I was corresponding with him, we were texting so I spoke to him about a week ago and some friends of ours went in to see him and he was really starting to lose his ability to speak," "Grey's Anatomy's" McDreamy revealed.

Ultimately, he revealed that by that time, Dane was already bedridden, and he had a difficulty swallowing. Despite the difficult circumstances, Dempsey chose to focus on the joy Dane brought to those around him.

"He was the funniest man. He was such a joy to work with and I want to just remember him in that spirit because any time he was on set, he brought so much fun to it," Dempsey described.

Ultimately, the veteran actor remembered Dane as someone with a great sense of humor, and like many of Dane's other co-stars, that he was easy to work with. "We got along instantly. First scene was him, you know, in all his glory, coming out of the bathroom with the towel on, looking amazing, making you feel completely out of shape and insignificant," he lovingly remembered.

Tributes From Film Co-Stars

John Stamos also paid tribute to Dane on Instagram. The two played brothers in the movie "Wedding Wars."

While Stamos did not share a lengthy statement, his post added to the growing number of public messages honoring Dane’s life and career.
