Julia Garner Seemingly Channels Madonna in Stunning New Photoshoot — and Fans Approve

The "Fantastic Four: First Steps" actress, who has been linked to a biopic about the pop megastar since 2022, had fans drawing similarities to the singer in her new photoshoot.

Julia Garner has appeared in a new issue for CR Fashion Book, evoking some of Madonna's most iconic '80s looks in her photoshoot for this month's cover, published Wednesday, September 24.

In the images, Garner's hair was styled in a short, voluminous bob with soft curls that frame her face, reminiscent of mid-century Hollywood. The hairdo bears a striking resemblance to Madonna's look on the cover of her 1986 album, "True Blue."

In one photo, Garner poses in a silky pink Gucci halter dress with lace detailing against a bold red background. The look — only missing the white opera gloves — was strikingly similar to Marilyn Monroe's when she performed "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend."

Madonna, who is known for drawing inspiration from Golden Age Hollywood, also referenced the performance in her music video for "Material Girl." Even Garner's fans couldn't help but point out the resemblance.

"It's Giving Marilyn & Madonna Vibes! ❤️🔥," one person gushed. "I see lots of Madonna references. Chair pics remind me of 'Open your heart to me' music video. And obviously material girl pink dress [sic]," another noted.

"Madonna vibes all over! 😍," a third exclaimed. "You are giving me such Madonna vibes. Omg I love it!!!!! Can't wait to watch ❤️," a netizen gushed.

Garner has been linked to a film about Madonna since 2022. "The 'Madonna' project is in active development, and Julia Garner is the choice to play Madonna in the biopic," a source told PEOPLE in June of that year.

By then, she had already been offered the titular role in the film. However, in January 2023, Variety reported that Universal Pictures had stopped developing the project as Madonna embarked on a tour.
