Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, and More, show support to Stephen Colbert by Visiting 'The Late Show'
Late-night unity took center stage Monday night as some of television's biggest hosts left their own sets to support Stephen Colbert following the cancellation of "The Late Show."
Stephen Colbert is leaning on his late-night peers after he announced that CBS has canceled "The Late Show." The show, which Colbert has been hosting for ten years, is set to cease airing in May 2026.

A wave of familiar faces turned up in the audience during the Monday, July 21, 2025 episode of the CBS talk show, including Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Jon Stewart, John Oliver, Andy Cohen, and Anderson Cooper — all appearing in a show of support.

The surprise came as part of a comedic segment parodying last week's viral Coldplay concert mishap involving former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and chief people officer Kristin Cabot. In classic late-night fashion, Colbert brought out Lin-Manuel Miranda and "Weird Al" Yankovic to lighten the mood.
As the duo launched into a performance of Coldplay's "Viva La Vida," the camera cut to several celebrity guests scattered throughout the audience.
Cohen jumped with excitement when he spotted himself on screen, eagerly trying to get Cooper's attention as the TV anchor looked down at his phone. When Cooper appeared unfazed, Cohen playfully leaned in and mimed an exaggerated kiss.

Stewart and Oliver appeared genuinely caught off guard when the camera landed on them, responding with wide-eyed, animated reactions for the audience.

Fallon and Meyers were caught on camera holding beers, exchanging surprised looks before breaking into smiles and attempting a series of high-fives. Meanwhile, Sandler waved to the camera, lifting a basket of popcorn shrimp in tribute to Colbert.

The camera then moved on to a cartoon of President Donald Trump (from the Colbert-produced animated series "Our Cartoon President") embracing CBS parent company Paramount's logo.
Colbert previously announced that CBS decided to cancel "The Late Show" due to financial reasons. However, following his announcement, Colbert said he would no longer conceal the truth.
