Princess Catherine Celebrates Prince William’s Birthday

The Duchess of Wales took to Instagram to share a short-and-sweet tribute in honor of her husband's birthday. The post comes shortly after she had to cancel her appearance at the Royal Ascot.

On Saturday, June 21, Princess Catherine took to social media to celebrate her husband Prince William's 43rd birthday with a heartfelt post.

She shared a photo of the Duke of Wales sitting on the grass, playing with their puppies. He wore a green button-up with blue jeans and a somewhat pensive expression as he cuddled one of the pups.

"Happy birthday! Love C, G, C, L, Orla and the puppies! 🐾," Princess Catherine wrote on their joint Instagram account. Earlier this year, Prince William also penned a heartfelt message for his wife on her birthday in January.

"To the most incredible wife and mother. The strength you've shown over the last year has been remarkable. George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you. Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you. W," he wrote.

Princess Catherine's post comes after she abruptly canceled her scheduled appearance at the Royal Ascot, the annual horseracing event, last Wednesday. No explanation for her absence was provided, but the event went on without a hitch, with her husband and parents present.

Her absence also marked the second time she missed the Royal Ascot as she was undergoing chemotherapy for an undisclosed form of cancer. She announced she went into remission in January and has been gradually returning to her royal duties.
