Jack Osbourne says he knew something was wrong the moment he saw a longtime family employee at his door in the middle of the night. Minutes later, he learned his father, Ozzy Osbourne, had died.
In a YouTube video posted on Wednesday, Sept. 3, the 39-year-old described the events of July 22, when the Black Sabbath frontman passed away at Harefield Hospital in west London.

Jack said he woke up in Los Angeles at about 3:45 a.m. to a knock on his door. The visitor was a longtime family employee. "When I saw who it was, I knew something bad had happened," Jack explained. He was then told his father had died.
He described feeling an immediate rush of sadness and pain, but also acknowledged a sense of relief that his father was no longer suffering. Jack said he wished his father was still alive, but admitted Ozzy had been struggling in the final months of his life.
Jack Osbourne referred to his father's last Black Sabbath performance on July 5 in Birmingham as an indication of his declining health. "No one expected it to happen as quickly as it did," Jack said, adding that the news came as a shock to the family.
